Obituary

Don't feel sorry for Frank. He's probably pitching to Scott right this minute on a beautiful baseball diamond. A few favorite Dodgers are most likely yakking it up on the sidelines.

Anyone who knew Frank realized he was a serious Dodger fan in a very short time. Scott's birth announcement has the Dodger logo on it.

Frank was born in Newark, NJ on October 18, 1946, to Frank Z. Dopart and Lara Lentowski. His family moved to Linden and Frank graduated from Linden High in 1964. Frank went to Upsala College where he met his future wife, Kathy. After they graduated in 1968, they eloped and were married for 54 years.

Frank got his MBA degree. After college Frank worked for Merck and later moved to Chase Manhattan Bank (now JPMorgan Chase) for 30 years.

Frank coached Little League Baseball; sometimes changing from his business suit to coaching clothes in the NJ Transit train restrooms so he wouldn't miss practices.

After his son Scott's tragic death, Frank coached Buddy Ball in Edison and Challenger Baseball in Piscataway until this year when he became ill.

Frank was famous for his Fourth of July Picnics at Watchung, the Day After Christmas Party every year, and his passion, The Baseball Party held in Scott's honor, filled with games, quizzes and choosing the Hall of Shame players. Remember those Fabulous Prizes?

Trips around the world were great, but trips to Wildwood and Mac's pizza were the best according to Frank.

Frank leaves behind his wife Kathy, daughter BriAnne of North Carolina, brother Alan and his wife, Cathy of Rahway, and their daughters and spouses, his favorite nephew, John Mangee and many friends in baseball and tennis.

But he will be missed most by his dog, Meg.
