Francisco Rivera, 85, of Hopelawn, passed away on January 14, 2026.

He was born on June 9, 1940, in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico.

Francisco was a retired Sr. Parole Officer for the State of New York.

He was a graduate of University of Puerto Rico and New York University.

He served as Sgt. in the U.S. Army Reserve Corps.  He was the founder of Encuentro Guayanillense in 1984 and was a member of the Brooklyn Caribe Lions Club.

Francisco is survived by his wife of 58 years, Miltho Lady Rivera; a son, Francis K. Rivera, and his wife, Lilo, of Bayport, NY; and grandson, Gabriel Francisco Rivera.  Francisco is also survived by two brothers, Crecensio Morales, and Martin Morales; four sisters: Milga Nadal,
Gladys Alvarez, Olga Alvarez, and Doris Alvarez.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 1:00pm - 4:30pm at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords,NJ 08863.

Services will begin Sunday at 4:30 pm in the funeral home, followed by a 5 pm Service of Requiem at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Perth Amboy. Cremation is private.
