Francis Joseph Burke's Obituary
Francis Joseph Burke 72, of Iselin, entered into eternal rest, Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway. He was born in Boston, MA and has resided in Iselin for the past 33 years.
Francis retired as a Staff Sergeant with the US Marine Corps. in 1978 after 20 years. He was an Engineer Equipment Chief, assigned to Motor Transport, and served two tours in Vietnam. After retiring from service he and his wife Louise owned the Avenel Sweet Shop for 12 years.
He was a life member of the American Legion and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Francis was predeceased by his brother John. He is survived by his wife Louise J. DeLorenzo Burke, his sons Joseph M. of Iselin, and James A. and his wife Holly of Colonia, his siblings Patricia T. Burke, and Charles Burke and his wife Brenda of Randolph, MA, and Michael Burke of Cambridge MA. and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday July 23, 2013 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7pm to 9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue, Fords. Interment services will be held privately.
