Obituary

Frances (Greenfield) Perlin, 94, of Old Bridge, passed away on Thursday, January 03, 2013 at home. Born in Braddock, PA, Fran lived most of her life in Perth Amboy. She was a personal secretary and head bookkeeper for the Levinson Law Firm for 40 years, and also worked at various other law firms in Middlesex County. She was also a member of Congregation Shaarey Tefiloh, taught Hebrew School for 25 years at Temple Beth Mordecai, helped students with their reading skills at elementary schools in Old Bridge, and was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader. Fran had an insatiatable appetite for learning, studying history, literature, and science, even after losing her vision over 10 years ago.

Frances is predeceased by her husband Matthew Perlin (1978); two late sisters, Elsie (Greenfield) Friedman, and Gloria Greenfield; and two brothers, Edgar and Lester Greenfield.

Frances is survived by a son and his family; her daughter, Jane Weinstein and Jane's husband Stewart of Old Bridge; and grandchildren David Mallen and Rachel Borofsky.

Funeral services will be held 12 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy. Interment will follow in Shaarey Tefiloh Cemetery on Bingle St. in Perth Amboy. Shiva will be held at the Weinstein residence in Old Bridge on Sunday immediately following the funeral, and Monday evening from 5-8pm.
