Florence (Goldmintz) Shipkin, 87, of East Brunswick died on Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital New Brunswick.

Florence was born in Perth Amboy, was formerly of Fords and lived the last 8 years in East Brunswick. She graduated Perth Amboy High School with the Class of 1941. She was a former member of B'nai B'rith and Womens Division of the YMHA in Perth Amboy.

Florence was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Shipkin, who died in 2000; her brother, Irving Goldmintz; her sisters: Min Meistrich and Rose Diamond, and her son-in-law, Jules Cohen who died in 1998. She is survived by her two daughters: Arla Cohen of Ocean, and Robyn Gladstone and her husband Al of South Amboy; her three grandchildren: Adam Cohen and his wife Allison of Reston, VA; Randi Gladstone of New York City; and Jared Gladstone and his wife Hayley of Brooklyn, NY.

Graveside Services will be on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Shiva will be observed Sunday and Monday at the Gladstone Residence in South Amboy. Arrangements are under the direction of the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863.
