Fernando "Fred" Vacca, 65 of Fords, passed peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the Raritan Bay Medical Center, in Perth Amboy.

Born in Gusto Italy, he had resided in Newark before moving to Fords in 1993.

He was a lifelong mechanic, and also drove for Fleet Car Carriers of Port Elizabeth.
Fred was an avid drag racer and enjoyed racing his '72 442 Olds at Raceway Park in Englishtown.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Mario and Frank Vacca.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 31 years, Gabrielle, his daughter, Lisa of Manhattan, his son, Tony of Fords, his two sisters; Maria Toto of Boonton and Dina Mackowski of Bridgewater, two brothers; Vincent Vacca and his wife Carol of Middlesex and Nick Vacca and his wife Bianca of Manalapan, also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.

Funeral services will begin on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords a private cremation will follow..
