Fernando Del Rio, 90, of Monroe, died suddenly on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Victoria House in Matawan.
He was born in Baez, Cuba, was formerly of Edison and Perth Amboy and resided in Monroe the last 10 years. He obtained an accounting degree in Cuba, and was a successful entrepreneur in the food, liquor and real estate industries, owning various business in Cuba, and the Perth Amboy and Newark areas.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hilda Del Rio, his two daughters, Maritza Del Rio-Karalis and her husband, Gregory and Hildi Del Rio-Orpen and her husband, Fred all of Monroe Twp. and his four grandchildren, Kristen, Gabriella, Erik Fernando and David. He also is the brother of Jose Del Rio of Edison and Mirta Toyos of Miami, FL.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 9:30 am from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave. Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. Followed by a 10 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary's Church, of the Blessed John Paul II Parish, in Perth Amboy, Entombment will follow in the Alpine Cemetery Mausoleum, Perth Amboy. Visitation will only be from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the funeral home.
