Evelyn C. Normandia, 88, of South Amboy, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at her home.
Evelyn was born in South Amboy, and was formerly of Perth Amboy, prior to her move back to South Amboy 20 years ago. She was a communicant of Most Holy Rosary Church in Hopelawn, a member of both the Holy Rosary and Holy Spirit Senior Citizens, a member of the Hopelawn VFW Ladies Auxilliary, as well as various other organizations in the area.
She was a retired Secretary for the U.S. Government at Ft. Monmouth, and Tinton Falls. Prior to her work for the government, she was employed by the Raritan Arsenal in Edison.
Evelyn leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Andrew W. Normandia; her brother, John Cesare and his wife Elma of South Amboy; her nephew, Bruce R. Normandia of Fords; her three nieces: Denise Dube of Fords, Donna Ciallella of Stanford, NY, and Debbie Triggs of Parlin; her two great-nieces and two great-nephews.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at Most Holy Rosary Church in Hopelawn.
Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Fords. Visitation will be on Monday, February 6, 2012, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm.
