Emily Eitzen, (nee Carey), 95, formerly of Carteret NJ, passed away on July 11, 2020. Born in Union City, she was raised in Jersey City and resided in Carteret for 64 years before splitting residency at her daughters' homes.
Emily worked for A&P, Cornell Childrens' Store and held a few factory positions before retiring from Gulton Industries in Metuchen. She was a communicant of Grace Lutheran Church in Perth Amboy. She was also a member of the AARP- Chapter 3810 Iselin Senior Citizen Club. Emily was a lover of all animals, especially dogs. She loved her New York Yankees, reading a good book on her porch, gardening, watching "her stories" on CBS, and taking day trips to Atlantic City. In her heyday, she was an avid bowler in the Howell Township League.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis E. Eitzen, in 1984; her parents, Henry and Emma Carey, her two siblings, Henry Carey and Ida Leib.
Surviving are her cherished daughters, Linda Woodhull and her husband, John, of Monroe
Township and Debra D'Agosta and her husband, Louis, of Virginia Beach, VA; her 6 grandchildren, John Woodhull and his wife, Adrienne, Janet Quaglia and her husband, Luigi, Nicole Varricchio and her husband, Derek, Dana D'Agosta, Sheri D'Agosta and her partner, Gary Hubbard, and Louis D'Agosta; her 9 great-grandchildren, Jake and Grace Woodhull, Cailin and Marco Quaglia, Franco and Salvatore Varricchio, Alexis and Dominick Estes, and Ava Hubbard.
Due to COVID-19, services will be private.
