Emilio Gianfrancesco, 94, of Perth Amboy, passed away at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy on June 22, 2014. He was born on November 30, 1919, in Roccamandolfi, Italy. He immigrated to the United States in 1956 and settled in Perth Amboy. Emilio worked for ASARCO and Mortell Co. in Perth Amboy, retiring in 1982. He was a communicant of Most Holy Rosary Church. He served in the Italian Army during WWII. He enjoyed gardening and shared the vegetables and fruits that he cultivated with his family, friends, and neighbors.
Emilio was predeceased by his wife, Giovanna Gianfrancesco in 2007; his son, Giovanni Gianfrancesco; his parents Giovanni and Maria Gianfrancesco; two brothers, Michele and Raffaele Gianfrancesco.
He is survived by two daughters, Maria and Antonietta Gianfrancesco of Perth Amboy; two granddaughters, Giovanina Gianfrancesco of Perth Amboy and Liberata Concepcion and her husband James of Piscataway; two great-grandsons, James and Christian Concepcion; sister, Angelina Del Riccio of Australia; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a 10 am Funeral Liturgy at Most Holy Rosary Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Hopelawn. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery.
