Elsie C. (Acker) Schneider, 89, of Edison, passed away on May 8, 2014, at JFK Hartwyck, Edison. Born in Newark, Elsie had lived in Edison since 1964. She enjoyed bowling, playing Mah Jong, crocheting, crabbing at the Jersey shore and maintaining a loving home.

Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Henry R. Schneider (2003), and her daughter, Joanne Schneider (2013).

Elsie is survived by her son Gary Schneider of Edison, her daughter Gwen Goepel of VA, and her four grandchildren: Ryan, Jesse, Zachary, and Casey.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 11 AM from Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM at the funeral home, prior to the service.
