Elizabeth Rubel, 91, of Edison, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2016, at Brighton Gardens of Edison. She was born November 11, 1924, in Vienna, Austria, and immigrated to the United States in 1939 where she resided in Bayonne for most of her life. Elizabeth was the owner of a hair salon in Jersey City. She loved to crochet and knit.

She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Rubel, in 2008.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Michael Rubel and his wife, Marion, of Long Branch; daughter, Cheryl Stein and her husband, Leonard, of Edison; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 25, 2016, at 11 am at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840. The family will receive mourners at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Fairview, NJ.
