Elizabeth J. Haughey, 88, of Loveladies, NJ, passed peacefully on Friday, August 11, 2017, at the Parker at Monroe Assisted Living Facility in Monroe Twp.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY and was formerly of Roseland, NJ and Pine Knoll Shores, NC.

She retired in 1987 from Becton Dickinson in Franklin Lakes, NJ, and prior to that she had been employed at the Roseland and West Essex High School Libraries.

She was an avid reader and bridge player and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her great-granddaughter, Riley Sue.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles H. Haughey, who died on December 10, 2015, and her siblings; Margaret Fitzgerald and Joseph and Gerald King.

Elizabeth leaves behind her three beloved daughters; Mary F. Haughey and her husband, Robert Ebbecke, of Silver Springs, MD, Patricia Haughey and her husband, Robert Reager of New Hope, PA, and Gail Haughey of Atlantic Beach, NC, her four cherished grandchildren; Charles Ebbecke, Katherine Weeks and her husband Daniel, Deglan Reager and his wife Laurissa, and Justin Reager, her dear great-granddaughter, Riley Sue Weeks, and her loving sister, Irene Candio Mennitt.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, 1740 US Highway 130, North Brunswick, NJ 08902, followed by an inurnment of her cremated remains at the Brig. General William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Parker Employee Holiday Fund, c/o Parker Nursing Home, 395 Schoolhouse Rd. Monroe Township, NJ 08831.
