Elizabeth Vetsis Folis, 90, of Perth Amboy, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday July 4, 2012, at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy surrounded by her family.

She was born in New York City and has resided in Perth Amboy for the past 54 years. Elizabeth graduated from Julia Richmond High School in Manhattan and in 1980, she graduated with honors from Middlesex County College with a degree in Social Work. She was employed as a Social Worker in the Children's unit at the Raritan Bay Mental Health Center in Perth Amboy for 20 years before retiring in 1992. She had previously been employed as a medical secretary at JFK Medical Center in Edison and the Charles E. Gregory School of Nursing in Perth Amboy.

Elizabeth was a member of St. Demetrios Church in Perth Amboy. She was a Sunday School teacher, member of the Choir, Ladies Philoptochos Society, Special Funds Committee, Church Festival Committee, Senior Citizens, PTO and was selected Mother of the Year in 1999. She devoted her life to her family, enjoyed many trips to Greece, and had a love for classical music.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Costas J. Folis, in 2006; and her siblings, Michael and George Vetsis and Norma Bisulca. She is survived by her children: John C. and his wife Karen of Yardville, Vaia Vanellis and her husband John B. of Trenton, and Joan Folis of Perth Amboy; her grandchildren: Michael and Matthew Folis, and Christina Vanellis; her sister, Ann Zarcadoolas of Pompano Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012, from 9:00-11:00 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ followed by an 11:30 am Service of Divine Liturgy at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to St. Demetrios Church.
