Elijah D. Jones
September 25, 2000 - June 13, 2025
Elijah Donte' Gurley Jones was born on September 25, 2000, to Donna Blackett and Eric Jones; genuinely welcomed by older siblings Saquan, Tee-shauna, and Tatiana. Elijah's schooling started in the Jersey City, New Jersey School District and was successfully completed with a High School Diploma in the Perth Amboy, New Jersey School District in 2020.
Despite various challenges that Elijah was faced with he had hopes and dreams for his future. While maintaining a quiet demeanor he was a person of a few words but making sure he was heard when he was treated unfairly. Elijah was always ready and willing to help around the house making sure that everything and everyone was okay, always saying, "I Got it", stepping up and being the man of the house when his Dad passed away.
Elijah's past time was watching movies by his favorite actors and enjoying funny videos on the social media platforms. Occasionally he would share those funny videos to lighten up the mood around the house. Elijah had an old soul because of his love for old school Hip Hop and R&B that could be heard loudly through his headphones.
On June 13, 2025, Elijah fell ill and never recovered, God's way of saying that his short time on earth was completed. Words cannot express how much Elijah will be missed by his Mother, Donna Blackett-Jones, Grandfather; Grenville Blackett, Grandmother; Maureen Drakes. Siblings; Ethan Jones, Saquan Williams, Tee-shauna Todd, and Tatiana Gooden. Great Aunt; Nettie Easterlin. Aunts; Monique Jones-Pike, Casandra Lowe, Rosita Farrell, Sherry Phillips, Cherry- Ann Alleyne, and Allison Barker. Brother-in-Law; Antion Todd. Nephews; A.J. Todd, and Amarion Todd. Uncles; Dia Evans-Blackett, Astor Davis, and Tony Pike. A host of Cousins in the USA, Barbados and Canada.
