Eliane Ruhland, 84, of Metuchen died on March 2, 2011 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born and raised in Normandy, France, she immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island in January, 1947. She was a "French war bride," meeting her husband Reynold, during the Normandy Invasion in World War II. She then became a homemaker and mother to her husband and three children.
Eliane is preceded in death by her husband Reynold J. Ruhland in August, 1998, and a daughter Michelle Ruhland in January, 1970. She is survived by her daughter Murielle Ferino and her husband Joe of Brick and son Daniel Ruhland and his wife Deborah of Frenchtown. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joseph and Scott Ferino, Travis, Marshall, and Chelsea Ruhland, and great-grandchildren Owen and Jack Ferino.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 10:30 AM from the Flynn & Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
