The family of Eleanore Hasinec Both of Edison, NJ is saddened to announce her passing on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 97 years.
Eleanore Both was born in Perth Amboy on January 12, 1928. She came from a large family with predeceased sisters; Mary, Annie, Veronica, Jill and a surviving sister, Margie and a predeceased brother George. She attended school in Perth Amboy and graduated from Perth Amboy High School. In high school she was the marching band majorette. She married her loving husband, Joseph Both also of Perth Amboy after he returned from World War II service in the US Navy. They were lovingly married for 61 years. Eleanore was a school secretary in the Number 2 and 5 schools in Perth Amboy for many years. She was a communicant of the Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords and a member of the Altar Rosary Society with the Church, she was also former member of Our Lady of Hungary RC Church, Perth Amboy. and was a former member of fellowship Club and was secretary to the School PTA all at that church, she also belonged to the Clara Barton First Aid Squad Auxiliary, American Legion Post 1000 - Trenton and the Edison - Clara Barton Seniors and the Edison Line Dancers where she served as secretary and treasurer. She enjoyed shopping and going for walks in the malls with her friends. She enjoyed family activities that ranged from holiday celebrations to summer backyard barbecues. Eleanore was a great cook, and she loved her dog "freckles".
She is survived by two children, Robert Both of Wall Township and Douglas Both of Cream Ridge, grandchildren, Dr. Samantha Both of Mami FL and Christopher Both of Preston, MD as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday morning only from 8:30 am until 10 am at the at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. With a funeral service beginning at 10 am at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 am funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery Fords.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital at 1 Robert Wood Johnson Place.
