Obituary

Eleanor Karnish Smink, 88, of Edison, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2013, at her home in Edison. She graduated from Perth Amboy High School, did some undergraduate studies and became employed by Puritan Dairy, where she met Raymond her husband of 49 years. In later years, she worked for Public Service and the Boy Scouts of America.
She was a communicant Our Lady of Peace, a member of the choir, and associate chairperson of the Social Action Committee, active in cub scouts and girl scouts. She traveled extensively throughout Europe, loved to cook and garden. She was an avid painter and used some of her work to decorate her home. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Raymond in 1991, her brother, John Karnish and her sister, Mildred Smoliga. Surviving are her sons, John and Edward; her daughter, Eleanor Hoeflinger; and her grandchildren, Raymond Smink, Christopher Cullari, Galen Hoeflinger and Beth Hoeflinger-Sacks, great grandchildren; Coleen, Jessica and Jillian Smink and Zackary and Sidney Hoeflinger: and her brother, Conrad Karnish.
Funeral services will be held, 10 AM, Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ, with a 10:30 AM funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. Cremation will be private. Viewing will be Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
