Eleanor A. Peterson, 91, of Edison, passed away at JFK Medical Center on, April 7, 2014. She was born in Perth Amboy on July 18, 1922. Eleanor resided in Edison since 1949. She graduated from the City Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1946 with Honors. She was a Registered Nurse for 38 years at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, retiring in 1981.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Perth Amboy.

Eleanor was predeceased by her sister, Marion Peterson; brother, Thomas A. Peterson; and her niece, Diane M. Marquez.

She is survived by her sister, Clara L. Peterson, with whom she resided; her nephew, Robert Marquez Sr.; and great-nephew, Robert Marquez Jr.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 10, 2014, from 10-11 am at the Grace Lutheran Church, 600 New Brunswick Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.  Funeral services will follow at 11 am in the church.  Interment will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Park.
