Eleanor (Peterson) Butler died peacefully on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
Born in Woodbridge, on May 17, 1930, to Alfred and Anna (Panko) Peterson, she was a communicant of St. James RC Church and a graduate of St. Mary's HS.
Eleanor loved music, movies, singing and dancing. One of her first jobs was a dance instructor at an Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Her career also included positions at Hess Oil Company, various Medical Offices and Woodbridge Township Town Hall. She also enjoyed rooting for her favorite teams, the Mets & Knicks.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 28 years, John "Jack" Butler, who died in 2021, and her siblings, Marion Aquila, and Bob Peterson.
Eleanor leaves behind her beloved sister-in-law Janice McCarthy of Tom's River, her nieces Christine Peterson of Fords, Kathleen Daub of Crown Point, Indiana, Joann Grillo of Randolph, and her nephews, Bill Aquila of Del Ray Beach, FL and Bob Peterson of Sausalito, CA. She also leaves behind many extended family and friends.
A special note of gratitude to Eileen and the other employees at CVS in Woodbridge and her Caregivers, Emily and Lenny all of whom Eleanor considered family.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 1pm at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.
