Elaine Mc Andrew, 66, of the Menlo Park Terrace section of Woodbridge Twp., died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Haven Hospice Unit at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

Born on April 13, 1948 in Newark, she lived in Menlo Park Terrace for most of her life. Elaine taught Social Studies for 43 years at Our Lady of Peace School in Fords. During her long career as a dedicated teacher, Elaine touched the lives of countless students as well as faculty and administration. Elaine was a committed member of the parish and school communities, but she was also greatly loved as a sister, an aunt and a friend.

Elaine was predeceased by her mother, Rita (Troy) McAndrew in 1961 and her father, Paul McAndrew in 2004.

Elaine is survived by her sister, Rita Wenzel and her husband Michael, of Colonia; two nephews, Gary Koellhoffer, and his wife Samantha of Lansdale, PA, and Paul Koellhoffer and his wife Caraline of Westfield, NJ; as well as good friends Dianne Ferrara and Lorri Clark. Elaine is also loved by great nephews and nieces Sean, Ryan, Madelyn, Allison, and Miranda as well as Grace, Abigail, Sarah, and Peter M.


Funeral service will be on Saturday July 26, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave, Fords, followed by a 10 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, Fords. Interment will be at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be Friday, July 25, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
