Elaine Kaplan, 88, of Edison, passed peacefully, with the love of her family at her side on Saturday evening, April 8, 2017, at the JFK Medical Center in Edison.

Born in Paterson, NJ, she had resided in Edison Twp. for 45 years, prior to moving to Miami Gardens, FL for several years, before returning home to Edison for the final 8 months of her life.

S he retired in 1993 after over 50 years as a legal secretary with the law firm of Craner, Nelson, Sadkin & Scheer of Scotch Plains.

She was a member of O.R.T., the B'nai B'rith Women, the Metuchen Elks Ladies Auxiliary, & the Jewish War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary.

Elaine leaves behind her beloved husband of 62 years, Edward Kaplan, her beloved daughter, Sharon A. Ginsberg, and her son in law, Ronald of Edison, her beloved son, Martin P. Kaplan of Edison, her 3 dear grandchildren, Adam Ginsberg, Melissa Rutta and Julie Ginsberg-Ferraro and her 4 dear great grandchildren.

Friends and relatives will meet on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Beth Israel Memorial Park Cemetery office in Woodbridge, at 10:45 a.m. for an 11 a.m. graveside memorial service and burial of her cremated remains.
