Eileen Elizabeth Breen Germain 81, of Edison, entered into eternal rest, Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was born and raised in Metuchen before moving to Edison 11 years ago.
Eileen was a Secretary at the Metuchen Parking Authority for 10 years before retiring in 1981.
She was a communicant of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen. Eileen was a republican committeewoman, and a member of the Metuchen Historical and Genealogy Society.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband Joseph Charles Germain in 2002 who served as a councilman, member of the Board of Education and recreation director, her daughters Karen Germain Cafaro in 1989, and Mary Germain 1980, and her siblings Dorothy Gierlich, Jean Fisher, and Robert Breen. She is survived by her children Patricia Cirri and her husband Santo, and Eileen Teffenhart who is a former Edison Councilwoman and her husband Andrew both of Edison, Joseph Germain and his wife Sandra of Cherry Log, GA, and William Germain and his wife Lisa of Middletown, MD. Also surviving are her grandchildren Joseph, Jennifer, Katie, Druann, Steven, Brian, and Jillian, and great grandchildren Darren, Rylie, Clover, Karaleen, Karen, Charlotte, and Andrew.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 30, 2013 at 9:45 am at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, followed by a 10:15 am funeral liturgy at St Francis Cathedral. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen. Visitation is Wednesday 5-8 pm.
