Efrain Maldonado, 85, of Perth Amboy, passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Arista Care at Cedar Oaks Nursing Home in South Plainfield.

He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and moved to Perth Amboy, NJ, where he has resided since the early 1950's.

He was an accomplished guitarist and percussionist and very talented singer and songwriter. With many recordings to his credit. He also was the neighborhood barber for years, and possessed a great sense of humor.

He was a retired mold maker for Continenal Can Co., which later became Sonoco Fibre Drum Corp in Carteret.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Caridad (Gomez) Maldonado, his four beloved children, Norma Maldonado of New Brunswick, NJ, Ildalis Pevny and her husband George, of Woodbridge, NJ, Efrain Maldonado of Perth Amboy, and Gloria Maldonado of Perth Amboy, his four beloved grandchildren, Dawn Walker, and Daniel, Andrew and Lindsay, and his great granddaughter, Nina and his brother Freddie and two sisters, Norma and Malta.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 1pm to 5 pm with a prayer service at 2:15 pm with Fr. Sean Winters officiating, at the Flynn and son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.
