Edwin A. Shuster, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 10 surrounded by his loving family. He was 89 years old and lived a full life.
Born in Oak Tree, NJ, he was the son of the late Katherine Day and Edwin A. Shuster, Sr. In 1952, he married the former Dorothy Sutero. Edwin also served in the US Air Force for four years, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. After serving in the military, Edwin started a career as a mechanic working for several companies before retiring from the Carborundum Company in Keasby, NJ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling as well as coaching the Avenel Youth Bowling League where he was known as "Big Ed".
In addition to his parents, Edwin is preceded in death by his two sisters: Katherine Kuhne and Helen Wenskoski. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy, of almost 70 years which would have been on May 24. He is also survived by his loving children: son Edwin, A. Shuster, III, daughter Linda Valeriani and her husband Joseph, daughter Beverly Stawinski and her husband, Joseph, sisters, Irene Covey and Mildred Quinn; 9 grandchildren: Stephanie Shuster, Tiffany Benaroya and her husband Adam, Charles Hicks and his wife Katie, Thomas Hicks, Courtney Valeriani, Darcy Gonzalez and her husband Anthony, and Rob Brindisi; 5 great-grandchildren: Maddox and Wyatt Benaroya, Aiden Hicks, and Tosh and Marley Gonzalez.
