Edward V. Yurkunas 82 of Edison, entered into eternal rest, November 7, 2016 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was born in Brooklyn, and has resided in Edison for the past 40 years.
Edward was and Electrician with IBEW Local #456 in North Brunswick for 35 years before retiring in 1989.
He served his country faithfully during the Korean War.
Edward was a 40 year friend of Bill W. and was always there to take care of someone in need. He was a member of the Clara Barton American Legion Post # 324, and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Edward was predeceased by his brother Walter in 2010. He is survived by his wife Margery A. DiNunzio Yurkunas, his children Amy Grant and her husband Michael of Flanders, Valarie Yurkunas of Arlington, TX, Diane Yurkunas of Austin, TX, Steven and his wife Deborah of Superior, CO, and Edward and his wife Brigid of Plano, Tx, and his grandchildren Kaylin, Avery, Shea, Tommy, and Kara. He is also survived by his siblings Val Yurkunas of Sherwood, AK, Wanda, Sarti of San Francisco, CA, his sister-in-law Geraldine Yurkunas of Kendall Park, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday November 10, 2016 from 4-8 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, with a service at 7:30 pm.
