Edward Takach, 97, of Edison, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. Born in Perth Amboy, Edward was raised in Woodbridge and lived in Edison most of his life.  He attended Woodbridge High School and then owned and operated Takach Auto Body in Metuchen for 60 plus years.  Edward enjoyed horse racing and spending time at the race track.

Edward is predeceased by his wife Helen in 1992 and his son Stephen who passed away as an infant.

He is survived by his son John Takach and daughter-in-law Audrey of Edison; two grandchildren, Lynn Hofstra and John Takach; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, followed by private cremation. Visitation will be held from 7-9pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Perth Amboy, 45 Market St., Perth Amboy, NJ 08861
