Edward J. Stern, 84, of Edison, passed away at his home on July 23, 2015. Born in Newark, Edward lived in Edison for 53 years. He worked for the U.S. Government in military installations in New Jersey and Europe as an Industrial and Avionics Engineer. Edward received his engineering degree from Columbia University in 1957. He enjoyed flying, holding a commercial pilot's license. He was also a professional photographer and videographer.

Edward is survived by his wife of 59 years, Toni (Chanko) Stern; his two daughters, Karen Stern Norrell and her husband, Stephen, of Haworth and Jill Stern Lindberg and her husband, Richard, of NYC and Voorhees; and four grandchildren: Zachary, Kate, Jesse and Kimmy.

Memorial visitation will begin at 3pm followed by 4pm Memorial service on Tuesday July 28, 2015, at Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840. Shiva will immediately follow the memorial service and will also be held Wednesday from 3-8 pm in the family's residence in Edison. Shiva will then continue to be held at the Lindberg residence in Voorhees on Thursday from 7-9 pm.
