Edward Munoz, 87, of Fords, passed away at JFK Medical Center on November 21, 2024. He was born on May 18, 1937 in Newark, NJ. Edward was a retired Longshoreman, having worked at the Port Authority of NY AND NJ for 49 years. He was a graduate of St. James High School in Newark, class of 1956. Edward served in the US Army Reserves. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church. Edward was an avid coin collector and enjoyed playing basketball. He was a fan of the US Women's National Basketball team, NY Liberty and UCON basketball teams. Edward also enjoyed watching tennis. In his younger years, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel Munoz and Frances Moroney Munoz, his sister Anastasia Balaong, and his brother Michael Munoz.
Edward is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores Munoz, of Fords, his son, Edward D. Munoz and his wife, Dorothy, of Somerville, his daughter, Jennifer Cunha and her husband, John, of Toms River. Edward had six grand children; Jessica Shick and husband, Douglas, of Somerville, Christina Forgacs, of Rutherford,  Rachel Forgacs, of Somerville, Gabriela Maria Cunha, Sofia Rose Cunha, and Jacob Daniel Cunha, of Toms River.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 3-7 pm at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ. 08863. Funeral Services will be Sunday 6:30 pm at the funeral home.
