Obituary

Edward J. Konkoski, 90 years old, of Fords, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born Oct. 3, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pa., he resided in Fords for the past 48 years.

He enlisted in the Army during World War II serving from 1941 to 1945 in the Central Pacific Theatre. Ed retired from Anheuser-Busch in Newark, where he was a brewer in 1985 and also worked at Rheingold Brewery in Orange. He was a member of Hopelawn Memorial Post V.F.W., Fords-Keasbey Senior Citizens Club and a longtime communicant of Our lady of Peace Church.

He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes (Brzenski) Konkoski; and sister, Irene Koumiss, surviving are a son, Edward J. Konkoski of Fords; daughters, JoAnn Hall of Delray Beach, Fla., and Lynn Jordan and husband Leon Jr. of Alexandria Township; grandchildren, Lauren and Caroline Hall, and Evan and Tyler Jordan; and sister, Jean Kaminski of Boynton Beach, FL.

Visiting hours from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday June 7 at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Fords-Keasby Senior Citizens will meet at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will begin 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 8 at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
