Edward F. Kelton, 92, of Hopelawn, passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at his home.
Born and raised in Jersey City he has resided in Hopelawn since 1961.
He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the US Navy.
He was a retired Police Officer for the Port Authority of NY & NJ, retiring in 1983, after serving the department for over 27 years.
After his retirement from the Port Authority of NY & NJ, he was employed as a security guard with Car Co Inc. of Port Elizabeth, NJ.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan who died in 2020 and his grandson Michael Kelton who also died in 2020.
He leaves behind his three sons, Thomas Kelton and his wife Irene of Washington State, Alan J Kelton and his wife Laura of Metuchen and Paul Kelton and his wife Mary of Metuchen. and his daughter, Jill Kelton-Minor and her husband Frank of Edison, his grandchildren, Christopher Kelton and his companion Kat, Jennifer and Christina Minor and Peter and Sally Kelton, his brother Donald Kelton and his sister, Catherine Lawton of Toms River, NJ, and his wonderful caregiver, Katerina.
Funeral Services will take place on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 9:30 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863, followed by a 10 am Funeral Liturgy at Most Holy Rosary RC Church, of the Good Shepherd Parish in Hopelawn. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 26, 2023. from 1-4 pm at the funeral home.
