Edward M.
Jankowsky
July 15, 1966 – October 31, 2021
Edward M. Jankowsky Jr. 55, of Pemberton, passed away on October 31, 2021, at Mt. Holly Hospital. He was born on July 15, 1966, in Rahway. Ed was a Patrolman for the Edison Police Department, retiring after 25 years. He was a graduate of Edison High School, Class of 1984 and received a degree in Criminal Justice from Middlesex County College.
Ed followed his calling to be a police officer and proudly served among his brothers and sisters while serving the community of Edison. He was an avid car guy and loved to restore antique cars and trucks. He was a mechanic all of his life and he was extremely skilled. There was never a day where he wouldn't be found in his man garage under the hood of a car. He loved boating as well and found his peace on the water. To say Ed was an extrovert is putting it lightly[1]he went out of his way to say hello to everyone he crossed paths with. He could talk about police work, cars, or boating for hours. He was a friend to all he interacted with. He had his proud dad moments with his daughter, Sarah, watching her ride her horse Ladybug. He would always show photos of them every opportunity he had and never missed the chance to beam with pride over them.
Ed is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sherry (nee James) Jankowsky, of Pemberton; a daughter, Sarah E. Jankowsky, of Pemberton; a sister, Karen Benson, of Edison; a niece, Kimberly; a nephew, Robert and his stepfather, Chester Pomykala, of Edison. He is predeceased by his mother, Karen (nee Damen) Pomykala.
