Edward J. Hamaid, 77, of Manchester, formerly of Edison for 45 years, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
Born and raised in Jersey City to John and Margaret Hamaid, Edward was one of seven children. Edward served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967, and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam Era. He worked for many years in brokerage and stock exchange, retiring from Securities Industry Automation Corporation in New York City. A former member of the St. Matthews RC Church in Edison, he had been active with their Father's Club, as well as with the Boy Scouts Troop #12 in Edison. Edward was also an avid Mets fan.
Beloved husband of Joann Hamaid (nee: Trivisone). Devoted father of Elisa Rubiano and husband John of Princeton Junction, Jeffrey Hamaid and wife Christine of Edison and John Hamaid and wife Kathryn of Staten Island. Cherished grandfather of Michaela Hamaid, Kira Rubiano, Solea Rubiano, Theresa Hamaid and James Hamaid. Loving brother of Ethel Ferris and husband William, Margaret Ann Allstaedt and husband Robert, MaryLou Hendrickson and husband Vaughn, Ruth Pellegrino and husband James, John Hamaid and the late Jean Fiore. Edward is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Private services are under the direction of Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue in Fords.
