Edward G. Baxter, 88, of Hopelawn passed away on April 8, 2018, at J.F.K. Haven Hospice. Born in South Plainfield, he resided in Hopelawn for the past 55 years. Edward was a TV Repairman with Sears & Roebuck in north Jersey for 19 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was a Member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Perth Amboy; a Member of the Hopelawn VFW; a Member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 4-4 in Sewaren; and an avid swimmer at the Woodbridge Community Center. Edward also enjoyed gardening.

Edward was predeceased by his sisters, Lucille Fleischmann and Georgiana Orem.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Jean Baxter (nee Christensen); his four children: Ellen Franke and her husband, John; Scott Baxter; Wayne Baxter and his wife, Maria; and Barbara Yulick and her husband, Robert; seven grandchildren: Eric, Robert, Ian, Danielle, Jesse, Dana and Peter; and a great-grandchild, Jeremy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords.

A Funeral Service will take place at 9:30 am on Friday, from Flynn and Son Funeral Home followed by a 10 AM Service of Requiem at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 183 Rector Street, Perth Amboy. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
