Obituary

Eduardo J. Trujillo, 82, of Perth Amboy, NJ, died Wednesday at Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ.

Eduardo was born in Yaguahay, Las Villas, Cuba, on a small poor farm from the town of Centeno. Along with his brothers and sisters, they started working the farm at an early age. He started working at the age of seven. Most of his young life was spent working the fields, so his education was limited to the early grades. To add to the pressures of life, his father died when he was 12 and that's when he became a man. He met his bride of 49 years in the same town, and after seven years of courtship, they married and had two kids.

Several years later he moved his family to Havana, the capital of Cuba, seeking better opportunity for his family. At this time the new Communist regime took over Cuba and he decided that in order to give his kids an opportunity he would have to leave his country. In order to win his freedom to come to the United States, he had to work in concentration camps for almost four years, where he rarely saw his family. He finally achieved that in January of 1971. He arrived in Perth Amboy, NJ, making this wonderful town his home for over forty years.

In the beginning, he worked many side jobs until he found his best job, working at the Chesebrough-Ponds Site in Perth Amboy. After working there for almost 20 years, he saved enough to put both his children through Rutgers University. Those who knew him, remembered him as a very simple man who worked hard all his life for his children. His morals, determination, and character will always be remembered and his smile will never be forgotten.

Eduardo is predeceased by Andrea Trujillo Carcamo, in 2009. He is survived by his daughter, Xiomara Menza, her husband Nicholas, their children Gabriella and Amanda , his son Eddie Trujillo, his wife Brenda, and their children Edward, Sebastian, and Cristian.

The Family will receive their relatives and friends at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, N.J. (732) 826-0358 on Friday, January 14, 2011, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Our Lady of Hungary, 691 Courtlandt Street, Perth Amboy N.J. on Saturday January 15, at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at The Holmdel Cemetery, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, N.J.
