Edith L. Hayes' Obituary
Edith L. Hayes, 95, of Perth Amboy, passed away on January 2, 2014, at Raritan Bay Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1918, in Atlantic City and has resided in Perth Amboy for the last 42 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles W.L. Hayes, Sr., in 1971; her son, Charles W.L. Hayes Jr.; her oldest grandson, Gerald Francis; and her great-granddaughter, Mariah Sallee.
Edith is survived by nine children: Edith L. Francis of CA; Charlotte M. Hayes of Iselin; Horace W. Hayes of Perth Amboy; George D. Hayes of Philadelphia, PA; Reginald K. Hayes of Phoenix, AZ; Albert D. Gardner of Des Moines IA; Martha J. Hayes of Spokane, WA; Rev. Samuel Hayes of Marina, CA; Jacqueline Jackson, of Lakewood, WA; 38 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. Funeral Services will be Saturday 12 Noon at the Wicker Memorial Baptist Church in Morganville, NJ. Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
