Edith Davidove, aged 92 1/2 passed away peacefully on May 9, 2023. Edie was born in Vienna, Austria on October 4, 1930 and came to America with her mother Fani and beloved sister Ruth in 1939 through Ellis Island. They were joined in New York by her father Henry Schneider. As a younger woman she met and married Richard Ellner and then in later years Bertram Davidove.

She was a devoted mother to her daughters Lori Lehrer and Allison Ellner, son-in law Elliott Lehrer. Exceptional grandmother to Jenn Hoff, Lindsay Teitelbaum, Michael Lehrer, David Teitelbaum, Nicole Lehrer, extended family Patrick Leahy and Andy Hoff.  She was an attentive Gigi (great grandmother) to Albert Leahy, Warren Hoff and Wyler Hoff. Also favorite Aunt Didi to Leslie Krutan, Diane Bartell and Scott and Debbie Krutan.

As a resident of Edison, Woodbridge and Old Bridge she was an active member of the JCC of Edison where she continued her education up to one week prior to her passing. She played Maj Jong, loved the opera, the ballet, reading books, Broadway shows and spending time with her family.

She was the light and matriarch of her family with a loving nature, talkative to everyone she met, delightful, courageous, and sassy.  She will be remembered and dearly missed by family and friends.

Graveside services at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY at 1pm on Thursday, May 11 followed by Shiva at the home of Lori and Elliott Lehrer 54 Ponderosa Lane, Old Bridge NJ on Thursday  6pm-9pm and Friday May 12th 6pm-8:30pm.
