Dorothy "Dottie”
Winhold
May 2, 1945 – December 20, 2025
Dorothy "Dottie" Winhold, age 80, passed away suddenly on December 20, 2025, in Lords Valley, PA. Born in Perth Amboy on May 2, 1945, Dottie was a proud resident of Metuchen since 1954 and most recently lived in Lords Valley since 2022.
Dottie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Douglas College, Class of 1980. She went on to build a distinguished career in real estate, founding Winhold Realty in Metuchen in 1982, which later evolved into Prudential Winhold Realty and then Prudential NJ Properties. In 2022, she semi-retired to the family's cherished Hemlock Farms community.
Dottie was deeply devoted to her community and loved being involved and bringing people together. Whether serving as a class mom, working through the local Chamber of Commerce to strengthen Metuchen, or spending many years as a poll worker alongside her mother, Dorothy, she gave her time generously and with enthusiasm. Each role reflected her lifelong commitment to her family, the town, or civic engagement. All of this led to Dottie earning the affectionate reputation of being Metuchen's unofficial ambassador. Dottie had countless friends and filled her days with book clubs, local groups, and events she truly loved. In her semi- retirement, she continued to embrace life fully, traveling with friends and family and making the most of every moment, while also continuing to find homes in and around Metuchen and the Pocono Mountains.
Dottie was predeceased by mother, Dorothy Palisi Mandica (2012), and her father, Anthony Mandica (2013).
Surviving Dottie are her children along with their spouses: Mark and Crystal Mandica of Atlanta, GA; Jason and Tracy Winhold of Metuchen; and Jillian Winhold and her husband, David Degatano of Parlin; her grandchildren, Cass and Anthony; and her long-time companion, Ted Baiersdorfer.
Visitation will take place between the hours of 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Flynn and Son / Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen NJ 08840.
