Dorothy Marion (Salva) Racz, 91, of Fords died Tuesday March 8, 2022, at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains.
Born and raised in Fords to the late Paul Salva Sr., and Mary Nemeth, Dorothy graduated from Woodbridge High School. She worked in retail at Stern's / Macy's in the Woodbridge Center Mall for 14 years before her retirement in 2004. Dorothy loved her family very much and enjoyed spending quality time with them. She lived her life to the fullest, taking many trips to Hawaii which she considered to be her second home. She was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church.
Dorothy is predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years Frank Racz (2010), her brother, Paul Salva Jr.; and her sisters, Helen Brewer and Violet Dueker. She is survived by her children, Diane Racz, Denise Campbell and husband, Douglas of Martinsville, and Frank Racz and wife, Anna Marie of North Branch; her grandchildren, Paul, Matthew, and Andrea; and her beloved great-grandchild, Ava. Dorothy was happily reunited with her precious rescue puppies, Mutts, Shadow, Maggie, and Casey as they crossed over the rainbow bridge together.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday March 12, 2022, starting at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 620 Amboy Ave, Edison, NJ 08837. A graveside service will be held at Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery in Fords following Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to either the Kaua'i Humane Society or the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
