Dorothy "Dibba" Ruth Holsan (nee Maier), 92, of Metuchen, passed away on September 12, 2021 due to heart complications.

Living most of her adult life in the Bronx, she was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where she ran the hot lunch program. Dorothy loved to play the organ at home and spend time with her beloved dog, Mindy. She was famous for her iced tea, hot fudge, and cimmakuchen . While the Bronx and Metuchen were her primary residences throughout her life, her true home was in the Poconos, where she spent every summer since 1958 surrounded by family and friends.

Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, John P. Holsan, in 2000.

She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Jockwer and her husband, John, and their daughters, Kelly and Becca; her son, John and his wife Diane, and their children, Melissa, JT, Jennifer, and Josh; and her son Richard and his wife Lisa and his son, Mitchell.

Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 16 at the funeral home, followed by a service at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 28 S. Fourth St, Fords, NJ at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's name may be made to the Memorial Fund at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
