Dorothy (Baran) Hansen left us to join her beloved husband Neal in heaven.  She was 91.  A dear and loyal friend to many, "Dot" was a woman of remarkable and immeasurable grace, kindness, generosity, and elegance.  She will forever be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.  She was a passionate and devoted aunt and was cherished beyond words by 13 loving nieces and nephews and many grand-nieces and nephews- all of whom had their lives enriched by this wonderful aunt.

Dot was a bank employee for over 40 years.  A lifelong Metuchen resident, she was active in the Metuchen Senior's group, Metuchen Library, St. Francis Cathedral, New Beginnings travel club, and various dance and social clubs.  Dot loved music and dance and was always ready to enjoy a concert, a Broadway show, or to Swing, Polka, or Ballroom dance at any time.  She was also an avid traveler who visited all 50 states and many foreign countries.

Most recently, Dot lived at Whispering Woods assisted living where she was tenderly cared for by a kind and attentive staff.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of the countless lives she touched throughout her life.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home on 319 Amboy Ave. Metuchen, NJ 08840. Funeral services will begin Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 9:45 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:15 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, NJ.
