Dorothy Grezner, 88, of Hopelawn, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at home surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born in Keasbey, NJ, on November 25, 1934, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (nee Kardos) Vitkosky. Dorothy graduated from St. Mary's High School, Perth Amboy, NJ, with the Class of 1953. She retired from New Jersey Bell Telephone Company. She was a loving and devoted mother.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her partner of over 50 years, Joseph S. Handerhan; her parents; brother, Robert Vitkosky; and sister, Elizabeth Jorgensen.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Gary Grezner of Hopelawn; her daughter, Darlene Grezner (Curtis Reitz) of Cedar Falls, IA; her sister, Mary Nagy; her former daughter-in-law, Karen Dean Grezner; her best friend, Alberta Pfeiffer; her grand fur babies: Candy, Flash, Snap & Lacie and her beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Dorothy was an avid bowler for many years. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, swimming in the backyard pool, and vacationing at the beach. Dorothy loved to gamble in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Dorothy was an animal lover who rescued families of cats. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds in her backyard. She was known for being a sweet, kind, and lovable person.

Dorothy's Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Monday, January 2, 2023, with a Prayer Service beginning at 1:30 pm at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ. Private Entombment at Cloverleaf Memorial Park will be held at a later date.
