Obituary

Dorothy J. Calabro, 86, of Hopelawn, passed peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Kennedy University Hospital, Cherry Hill.   Born in Brooklyn, NY, she had resided in Hopelawn since 1958.  She retired in 2001, after 25 years with the Middlesex County College in Edison, She had also been a teacher's aide for School #10 in Hopelawn.  Dorothy served as a Deaconess for over 60 years with the Church of Jesus Christ in Hopelawn and had been a member of the church for over 72 years.

She was predeceased by beloved husband, Paul Calabro, who died in 1999; her parents, John and Elizabeth; and sister, Marie Perillo.

She leaves behind her three beloved sons: Gary (Maureen) of Bordentown, Rick (April) of Stewartsville, and James (Mitzi) of Parlin; ten grandchildren: Jared, Danielle, Jessica, Caleb, Gabriella, Joshua, Paul, Leah, Gianna, and Jacob; three brothers: Richard, Robert and Edward Onorato; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 30, 2016, from 4 to 7 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.  Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 31, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, followed by interment at the Church of Jesus Christ Cemetery, Hopelawn.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to The Church of Jesus Christ, 393 Florida Grove Rd.,  Hopelawn, NJ 08861.
