Doris S. (Sturm) Gallagher, 81, of Fords, passed away on October 10, 2014, at Clara Barton Assisted Living in Edison. Born in Bloomfield, Doris had lived in Fords since 1955. She received an Associate Degree from Middlesex County Community College and was an Executive Secretary for Nielsen and Bainbridge Company, Raritan Center, Edison for many years until her retirement. Doris was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords, and a member of the Altar Rosary Society, and its past Treasurer.

Doris was predeceased by her husband, Hugh A. Gallagher, Jr., who passed away on March 16, 2014, and her brother John Sturm.

She is survived by her six children: Hugh A. Gallagher III, Rosemary Chase, Nancy Simms, Susan Sacco, Kevin Gallagher, and Maureen Pollock; 10 grandchildren, and her sister, Joan McCreedy, of NC.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, followed by a 10 AM funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
