Donald T. Pate, 58, of Perth Amboy entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 11, 2011, at his home. He was born in Laurinburg, N.C. and has resided in Perth Amboy for the past 56 years.
Donald was employed by the Perth Amboy Board of Education as a Special Education teacher in the district for 35 years before retiring in 2010. He attended Perth Amboy public schools and was a 1975 graduate of Rutgers University. Don was a very outgoing man. He was a member of and head Deacon at The Holy Trinity Church of God and Christ in Perth Amboy.
Don was predeceased by his father, Cleveland Pate; his step-father, Rupert Bryan; and his sister, Phyllis. He is survived by his mother, Viola Everett Pate Bryan; siblings: Joyce, Frances, Debbie, Gena, Alberta, and Eric all of Perth Amboy; his god-daughter, Briana, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011, at 11:00 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy. Interment will be in the Alpine Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
