Donald Jantas, age 71, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025 surrounded by family at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. He was born on March 29, 1954 in Bayonne, NJ. Donald grew up in Bayonne and resided there until moving to Fords 30 years ago. Donald retired from his job in wastewater management for Joint Meeting in Elizabeth, NJ.

Donald is predeceased by his first wife, Bernadette Jantas; his parents, Theodore and Regina Jantas; and his brother-in-law Teddy Christopher.

Surviving Donald is his beloved wife, Susan Kucirka; his children, Joshua Jantas and his wife Jennifer, and Rebecca Dayton; his stepdaughter and her husband, Andrea and Christopher Blath; his grandchildren, Jake, Jackson, Maximus, Lily, Olivia, Ryan, and Matthew; his siblings, Margaret Christopher and Theodore Jantas along with his wife Arlene; and his sister-in-law Marlene Ihle.

Visitation will take place between the hours of 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin the next morning at the funeral home at 10:00 AM, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy next door at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald's memory made be made out to the American Heart Association .
