Obituary

Dominick J. Berardi, 90, of Willow Street, PA, passed away on June 30, 2015 at his home.
He was born on December 14, 1924 in Carteret, and has resided in PA since 1987.
He was a Navy Veteran of WWII from 1942-1946, serving on the USS Nitro AE2 and the USS Hanson DD832 as an Electrician's Mate 2nd Class.
He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, European Theatre Ribbon with 1 Star, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon, the America Theatre Ribbon and the Victory Ribbon.
Dominick worked for Shell Oil Company in Sewaren for 35 years and retired in 1977 as Lead Foreman in the Engineering and Maintenance Dept. He and his wife Irene moved to Mesa, AZ., where they owned and operated Sally Page Candies for 9 years, moving to PA soon afterward.
He was a charter member of the Rosary Memorial Post 1613, Catholic War Veterans, a charter member of the Sons of Norway Bondelandet Lodge 3-612 of Lancaster, PA., and a member of the USS Nitro AE2/AE23 Association.
Dominick was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Irene (Grimsrud), his parents, Jacob and Rose (Vetrano), his sister, Frances Hareslak, his brothers, Frank and his wife Louise, and Nicholis. Surviving are his brothers, James and his wife Elizabeth, Edward and his wife Mary Lou, a sister- in- law, Doris, brother-in-law Francis Hareslak, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Interment will follow at Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway. Viewing will be Sunday 4-7 PM.
