Diane Elizabeth Mansmann, 76, of Perth Amboy passed away surrounded by family in Metuchen, NJ on October 9, 2023.
Born in Port Antonio, Jamaica to the late Oswald and Claire (nee DeSouza) Wynter on December 3, 1946. Diane emigrated from Kingston, Jamaica in 1972 to attend Catholic University where she received her Master's degree in Social Work. After marrying Edward Denis Mansmann in 1974, the couple moved to Perth Amboy where they both worked for Raritan Bay Medical Center. She was a devout Catholic and joined St Mary Parish in Perth Amboy where she was involved in all aspects of the church for which she got an award in 2014 for Irish Woman of the Year. She also loved to sing and was a member of St Mary's Choir until they closed. Later she became a member of the St. Anthony's of Padua Choir, Diocesan Choir of Metuchen and Rise Up community choir.
She retired in 2012 as a coordinator of the crisis unit at Raritan Bay but continued providing individual therapy until 2020. Diane was a light and comfort for anyone who came into her presence. She was beloved by her family, friends, church, clients and community.
She was predeceased by her husband Denis Edward Mansmann in 1997 and her brother, Horace Wynter.
She is survived by her two daughters: Tara Romero, and her husband Gregory, of Metuchen, Christa Mansmann of Gardner, MA; her grandchildren: Adrian, Zoë, Santiago, Sebastian, Nicco; her brother, Neville Wynter of Stamford, CT, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863. A funeral mass will begin Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 10am followed by an inurnment at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
