Diane Lynn Cowhey, 77, of Fords, NJ, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024 under the kind and loving care of Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Born on February 7,1947, in Jersey City, NJ, she was a long-time resident of Fords, NJ, and member of Our Lady of Peace. Diane was retired 23 years from Phillips Van Heusen where she worked in Accounting. Throughout her life, Diane volunteered and taught CCD, RCIA, Pre Kania, and adult Confirmation classes at Our Lady of Peace in Fords, NJ. In retirement, she volunteered at JFK Hospital for Haven Hospice and for a short time worked as a Coordinator. Diane was a world-traveler and went on many religious pilgrimages and retreats seeing Vatican City, Israel, France and Poland as well as traveling with the love of her life, Peter Kaufman, to Switzerland.
Diane was predeceased by her mother, Marjorie Sandman; her father, Albert Tarnowski; and her siblings: Lexy Shabet, Ednise Rubinsky and Mark Sandman.
Diane was a wonderful "mother" to all of her younger siblings and a wonder friend to her elder siblings. She is survived by her siblings: Vera DeVeau, Dawn Kopczynski, Jonnie Ward, Kim Sandman and Shayne Sandman; and multiple nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and great-nieces.
Diane wanted to send her prayers and thanks to all of her friends, especially Kathy Kazary, for their love and support.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 9:00 AM at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
