Obituary of Develon Hughes


Develon Hughes, 58, of Fords, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the home of her daughter. Mrs.Hughes was born in Cheyenne, WY to the late Charles and Lonice Young and had previously lived in Coney Island and Brooklyn, NY before moving to Fords thirteen years ago.

Develon was employed as a tax auditor by the State of California for twenty three years before retiring in 2019.

She is survived by her loving husband of twenty eight years, Roy Hughes, her two sons: Khari Hughes and Khobie Hughes of Fords, her daughter: Nichole Goodridge and husband Jermel of Dunellen, her brother: Charles Young of Waxhaw, NC, her two sisters: Darlene Autry of Charlotte, NC and Stephanine Young-Geye of Rosedale, NY, her two grandchildren, Jermal; and Anneliese and also by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday February 19, 2022 at 2 pm at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday from 2-4 pm at the funeral home.
